I am a fourth year student at the Compiègne University of Technology (an engineering school) and I participated, in February of 2015, in the 'fleurs d'éloquence' contest organised by Sorbonne University. After 20 hours in a rhetoric and speech writing training programme, I had the opportunity to take part in the three contests until the finale organised by the French national Library (BnF), which I won. 'Fleurs d'éloquence' allowed me to develop my oratorical skills and to sharpen my rhetoric education. To this day, I still use everything I learn during this training programme whether it is in-class presentations or taking part in professional meetings. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to participate in 'fleurs d'éloquence' and I can only advise students to do the same.
