As part of this workshop, students stage a show in German based on a play from the repertoire. A specific attention is given to the elocution, the pronunciation, non-verbal communication (mimicking, acting style). The play is performed at the end of the year, in June, during the festival for the university's workshops. The previous years, the play was also performed at the Heinrich Heine House (Student hall of residence) as well as in the Richelieu lecture theatre (Sorbonne). Actors's diligence and commitment within the troupe are obviously an essential condition for the project to be successful! Extra rehearsals are to be expected during the second semester, as the performance approaches.
Important : rehearsals are opened in priority to second-year students in German (for whom this workshop is a specialisation), but also opened to student outside of the German Studies department.
Plays presented in the previous years:
- 2018 : Électre (Hugo von Hofmannsthal) and Iphigénie (Johann Wolfgang Goethe)
- 2017 : Woyzeck and Leonce und Lena (Georg Büchner)
- 2016 : Ein Besserer Herr (Walter Hasenclever)
- 2015 : Die Verschwörung des Fiesco zu Genua (Friedrich Schiller)
- 2014 : Faust (Goethe)
Registration as specialisation only
